Grilled chili lime chicken wings

Posted on May 11, 2012

As the weather warms up, it’s time to uncover the grill.  And what’s more paleo than meat and fire?  I love hot wings, but the battered deep fried version just isn’t friendly to anyone’s diet, so here’s a version that is.  I served this with some paleo potato salad (I swear it’s paleo) and grilled asparagus.  Stay tuned over the next couple of days for the potato salad recipe, which includes homemade paleo mayo, and purple potatoes.

1 dozen organic chicken wings

4 cloves minced garlic

1 tsp cayenne

1 tsp paprika

2 tsp chili powder

1 Tbsp lime juice

1 Tbsp avocado, or olive oil

salt and pepper to taste

In a small bowl, mix together all spices and garlic.  Pour oil and lime juice over wings, and toss to coat well.  Add the spice mixture and stir until all wings are well coated.  Heat your gas or charcoal grill to medium high heat, and cook wings turning once until they are cooked through, about 6-8 minutes each side.  Keep an eye on them, because they can burn quick!  Serve with other bbq favorites like paleo potato salad, fruit salad or grilled veggies.  Enjoy!
